The Tudor-style lodge at the inlet has a real countryside feel. It is located 20 minutes drive from Wellington City in the Pauatahanui valley looking over lovely views of the inlet towards the sea.

The lodge is close enough to Plimmerton beach and grays road on the inlet ( plus others ) to provide alternative photo shoot locations should you want them.

Lodge at Pauatahanui inlet has two separate weddings halls, the largest able to hold 200 seated guests or 250 standing. This venue offers customizable wedding packages and full catering, so you can organize the wedding reception or the whole day there.

The unique courtyard with it’s grand brick arch flanked with two life sized riding statues is the perfect location for the wedding ceremony.

An interesting old cart has been placed on a lawn – nice for photos ! The light here can be very strong on a bright day, but usually pictures can be taken nicely with the rolling hills in the background.

The lodge has a number of rooms for guests or bride and groom, the accommodation is decorated differently in each room and provides an interesting setting for the getting ready pictures if the bride chooses to stay on site before the wedding.

The pool and secluded garden at the Lodge at Pauatahanui inlet also provide an opportunity to get some outdoor shots of the bride and family before the ceremony away from the guests.

For your photos you are spoilt for choice, with brick architecture and natural gardens. One of the popular spots for pictures is right by the entrance, where a lovely old stone bridge crosses a small pond.
