The iconic museum can also be the place where you say “I do” in front of friends and family. There are two packages in which you can choose from. One starting at $99 per person and the other is $135. Both offer what you need to make your day easy, relaxed, and worry-free, including a specially designed three-course menu that features a taste of New Zealand—all cooked to perfection.
You’ll also be provided with a dedicated wedding curator and team to oversee the day.
Te Papa has plenty of options for venue space as well. Perhaps even too much choice! No matter if you’re looking for indoor or outdoor, intimate or glamorous, there’s something for every couple. If one room works well for the ceremony and another for the reception, that won’t be a problem.
To give you an idea of the space available, there is the Wellington Foyer. This six storey high room is grandiose and can fit up to 550 guests. It has granite floors and a large circular window overlooking Wellington. There’s also the Icon room, which is a naturally lit room thanks to its floor to ceiling windows throughout. The space is contemporary and versatile, which can fit 120 people seated for dinner. For an elegant cocktail hour, there is the Te Marae, a theatrical space with amazing lighting.
As if you’re still not sold, there are a variety of spots for unique photos: a lagoon, a waterfall, and an amphitheatre.
